Ham Soup

Oh the weather outside is frightful, but in here I am making delightful soup from the lowly left over ham bone.

Pea Soup is a favorite of mine , however it does rate very high with the rest of the fam..
So I have devised a plan to trick them...I think maybe green is not the best color for soup so I am using yellow peas, the taste is wonderful and the aroma is filling the house as I write this post.
Let's hope this works

To make this trick soup
Put your ham bone, put it in a large pot, fill with water about 2"inches from the top
Add 1 large onion chopped
2 bags yellow peas
salt and pepper.
Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce heat ,cook for an hour or until all the peas have softened.
Remove the bone and take off the ham , place the ham back in the soup.
Taste for flavor add a bit more salt and pepper if needed ,top with a bit of sour cream and you are good to go.
I'll be sure to let you know, how this goes
