ouchfits?

In exactly six days I am going to the Project Runway Season 6 Finale in the tent at Bryant Park, thanks to the generosity of TLo at Project Rungay.

Am I excited?

Does the Pope wear Prada?

Here are the facts: I am the 47 year old mother of 5, 10 pounds over my fighting weight and I live in New Hampshire where the only shopping options are LL Bean and WalMart.

Not that it really matters what my shopping choices are-- I know how to work an on line order form for chrissakes-- I am not going to spend a cent unless these pictures make everyone barf. As I have detailed previously, every available dime here at Chez Ellinwood is committed to launching GreenPoma, paying the mortgage, feeding the kids and supporting the New Hampshire ski industry.

I've got to find something to wear that is reasonably appropriate. I'll take a "booooring" from Nina, but I will die if Tim frowns. Or worse, shivers. OK so I am prolly delusional that I will meet anyone, and it will be thrilling just to be there, but srsly, I don't want to embarrass myself.

I'd love to hear what you think about these choices,
(not to mention some Restalyne for the marionette lines)

The skirt is a little snug, but that's why God made Spanx.
The jewlery isn't right but Kristin Sullivan is going to set me up.
Too housewife goes to the city to see a matinee of one of those jukebox musicals?

Palazzo pants, yes or no? Also, too bathrobey?

Better with black tights? Too RNC?

Hi, it's Ann here. I have to agree w/ Miss Dana (not a comment, just an email) that I am rooting for outfit #1. I think you can totally pull it off as is. And, of course, I'm partial to those Prada shoes...cuz I have 'em in the burnt gold color. OK, so the heals are all blackened b/c of too much driving and I am totally envious that you got the chocolate brown, but whatever. I am also totally envious of your PR debut on Friday. For God's sake, getcherself on camera, gf. XOXO, AJ

Anyhoo. I really like number two. I love that orangey red on you and don't think its bathrobey. And wide pants are back. All that being said... I must tell you that I think number 3 rocks. I think its very chic and you know how I totally heart those shoes...fierce. You're going to FASHION WEEK, for God's sake. Bring it, I say. BRING IT.
And I don't think tights would be better. You have great legs. Let 'em out!!!! I also really like that champagne color on you...
So, for bling, I have some beads that I can only desribe as chunky ivory carved chinese lantern thingys. I see either a longer mix with bronzey/champagne pearls mixed with the lanterns if you go with number 3. I could also do something shorter, but I like the idea of something against the black.
For number 2, I'm thinking multi-strand. Mainly green, but with shots of tomato and black. Kinda punchy for color, not too matchy-matchy. Or douchey-douchey. Hopefully.

My jealousy for your upcoming adventure is only matched by my complete and total gratitude for the opportunity to go along avec vous in spirit....and beads!

So I went on line and looked at your "closet shopping", which by the way is all the rage in this economy, and hear is my take.

I love love love the first outfit. Skirt is not to snug. I'd go with that. Looks stylish, you look tiny and it does not look like you tried to hard, at all. You look amazing and jewelry will totally MAKE it perfect for the event. Can I borrow it sometime??

My next choice is the red jacket which you look fabuloso in but I am not crazy about the bottom half. I'd like it with a fitted skirt but it is RNC to me, a little bit anyway.

The 3rd outfit I am not sure about, at least not all together. I love the dress and the shoes but not the jacket thing. It looks like wings.

So hands down, I like the first get up. When are you going? Will you have time to see little ole me for a drink or coffee? I promise not to look too too wall street.

Mrs.E,
I am a fan of the snazzy black look ! Love the shoes, but GF they are talking snow...you might want to pack the Merrells ( just in case) I am sure all the NYC ladies have a pair of The Merrells ! Also think about some hand warmers...nothing worse than shaking hands with chilly hands...I have like 500 of those..swing on by B4 you get on your bus to The Big City !!! I am sure you will dazzle them in whatever outfit you decide...The Village Of Concord will be waiting to see you when/if you return!!! have fun xxx Mela

I pick door number three Bob! Add a little 9 pine bling and keep those legs pale. As long as they are creamed not crusty you are good to go! Have fun!
xox Ann (not the original)
p.s.The original should add an E to make it easier! Haha~

Katie prefers 3, Tenley prefers 1, 2 is both of our last choices - but you will look beautiful whatever you wear!

Hi there. I realize that I am just a little predjudiced but you look fab in all three. However, did you try the "little black dress" with the red jacket? Then again what does a mother know? I would try that and post it for a final vote. If not then I will vote for #1. Love all the shoes of course.I am so jealous that I do not have a ticket to join you. Sooo, make sure you let us all know your decision so that everyone here in Vero will know how to find you.
Your father's comment is, "stay for three days and wear all of them". By the way, love, love, love the MacKenzie-Childs backdrop!

I love No. 1, though, the trousers look comfy. La Lohan will be wearing leggings with everything. Do you have large sunglasses to wear? I also think Blago is a wonderful photographer. Impeachment has an upside. A career in fashion photography is def. a step up. Carry a copy of NH Vogue with you wherever you go.
